Mackenzie + Ronnie | New Years Day Wedding

A Gatsby themed wedding on New Years Day? Yes, please! I was so excited when Mackenzie and Ronnie reached out about having me capture their wedding day with all they had planned for the day. Let me just say – these two college sweethearts know how to throw a party!

Gatsby Wedding Themed Details

The attention to detail put into this wedding to bring the Gatsby theme to life was nothing short of amazing. There were champagne skirt girls in 20’s attire, a champagne tower, vintage car and lounge sets, and SO MUCH MORE!

To top it all off, Mackenzie found the most perfect wedding gown for her Gatsby theme! With a fun removable skirt so she could dance the night away with all of her guests at the reception and two fun pairs of shoes.

First Touch on Wedding Day

A first touch on your wedding day is a great alternative to a first look. It still allows you to have some form of contact with each other before the ceremony and is the perfect time to exchange private letters with each other.

Not only did Mackenzie and Ronnie have a handwritten letter for one another, but Mackenzie had a letter she wrote when she was at Middle School Bible Camp titled ‘to my future husband’.

Special Musical Appearance By Brides Grandma

Including grandparents in your wedding day is always a special treat, but Mackenzie took it one step further and had her grandmother play the harp as she walked down the aisle. How special to have her included in that moment?! And it was beautiful!

Dog of Honor

I’m a big fan of including your dogs in your wedding day and was so excited when Mackenzie mentioned she would have her dog, Phoebe, as her ‘Dog of Honor’! She had the cutest dress to go along with the day and was so cute being rolled down the aisle in her stroller.

Dancing the Night Away

Mackenzie and Ronnie’s reception was the perfect Gatsby themed celebration with all of their guests. All of the details brought the night together and allowed for a fun party celebrating the newlyweds!

I'm  Lauren - TX Wedding Photographer

I know that finding your wedding photographer can feel weirdly overwhelming. Like a surprise level of Jumanji you absolutely did not sign up for.

Of course style, packages, and location matter. But don’t forget about the person behind the camera.

Because who I am is exactly who shows up on your wedding day. The person helping navigate timelines, emotions, family dynamics, unexpected chaos, and all the tiny moving pieces with calm, care, and intention.

My goal is is always ridiculously simple: help everything run smoothly, make sure you have the best time of your life, and capture you looking damn good while doing it.
