Woodsy Winter Wedding at Merrick Hollow in Wellston, OK

I had the pleasure of capturing Bethanie and Jay’s woodsy winter wedding, an amazing celebration that took place at Merrick Hollow in Wellston, OK. As Texas natives, Bethanie and Jay wanted something a little bit different from the usual for their big day. After some intensive Google searches, they found a truly unique treehouse-style wedding venue located in Wellston, OK. They fell in love with it! They invited their closest family members and friends, and we all hopped on flights to witness them get hitched in a beautiful Oklahoma winter ceremony this past January. The setting was magical, and the experience was unforgettable!

Bethanie & Jay’s Woodsy Winter Wedding

As a photographer, I always start with the details when I arrive at weddings. One thing that caught my eye at Bethanie and Jay’s wedding was the lovely phrase “Until the wheels fall off” embroidered on Bethanie’s veil. I was curious and had to ask them about it. It turns out, this phrase is a special mantra they have been telling each other since they first started dating. It’s such a sweet testament to their love and commitment to each other! And let’s not forget about their adorable dogs who came along for the ride! They were involved in nearly every aspect up until after the ceremony. Their presence added a fun and personal touch to the wedding.

Though Oklahoma was in the grip of a snap freeze that weekend, the chilly weather didn’t slow down anyone from celebrating the newlyweds! The couple and their guests were in high spirits, making the most of the joyous celebrations. The cold didn’t stand a chance against the warmth of their love and the excitement of their guests! Bethanie and Jay’s wedding was truly amazing, not just for the beautiful venue and their loving vows, but also for the unforgettable client experience. Their wedding was a testament to the fact that a wedding’s location and environment can significantly enhance the overall experience.
