Why Grand Teton National Park Should Be on Your Short List of Elopement Locations

A few months ago, Jessie and Jeffrey reached out to me with a big question. They were planning to get married but had no idea where they wanted to tie the knot! They did know one thing, though – they wanted a beautiful location with mountains. And so, I introduced them to the Tetons, and they fell in love! I'd love to share with you why they chose the Tetons, and why you should add the Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) to your shortlist of elopement locations!

#1 The Airport

Let's talk about getting there. The Jackson Hole Airport is hands down one of the most beautiful and conveniently located airports to a National Park. Located in Jackson Hole itself, it's about a 15-minute drive from the entrance gate of the National Park and a 10-minute drive into downtown Jackson. Super easy for the couple and their guests!

#2 The Perfect Backdrop

the Tetons are the perfect mountain backdrop with a wide variety of locations that are easily accessible. Whether you're an outdoorsy couple wanting to incorporate a 10-mile hike to your perfect ceremony location or a couple who'd prefer a leisurely day, there's something for everyone! Plus, all six ceremony location sites required by the park are within a short 3-minute walk from a parking lot - no hiking required!

#3 A Lot of Activity Options

There are so many options for activities! I love when couples incorporate activities into their elopement day, and there are so many options to choose from. Season-dependent, of course, but I've had couples choose to hike, horseback ride, take a hot air balloon ride, have a picnic, and even take a sleigh through the Elk Refuge. And that's just scratching the surface!

#4 Jackson Hole Town

Jackson Hole is quite possibly the cutest town with everything you could possibly need for a vacation. Downtown Jackson has delicious restaurants, fun bars, cute breakfast spots, bakeries, coffee shops, gift shops, and adorable boutiques. A couple of stoplights further into town, you can find more restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and anything else you can think of. The great thing about Jackson Hole (as if I haven't just listed 9 lol) is that it's super close to Grand Teton National Park, but you're also a 2.5-hour drive from Yellowstone National Park. It's a perfect day or two trips to factor into your itinerary if you want to see and experience both National Parks.
