Romantic Wedding Day at The Preserve at Canyon Lake

On September 3rd, 2023, I had the joy and honor of capturing the beautiful wedding of Alyssa and Jake at The Preserve at Canyon Lake. This wedding was particularly special because of the long history between this couple. Nearly 10 years ago, this beautiful couple met in middle school through mutual friends! Their bond strengthened throughout high school, survived the long-distance relationship during college, and eventually led to a heartfelt proposal in Austin, TX in the Fall of 2022.

The wedding venue, The Preserve at Canyon Lake, was the perfect backdrop for their amazing day. Every detail was meticulously planned to represent Alyssa and Jake as a couple and their shared values! The most important of these values was their people – the family and friends who have come along with them on their journey. The night before the wedding, I had the pleasure of capturing their reception dinner. This was an incredible opportunity to meet all the important family members and close friends. The speeches given that night reflected the love of Alyssa and Jake, the depth of their relationship, and the positive impact they've had on everyone around them.

The wedding day itself was filled with emotion. Alyssa chose to do a first look with her brother, stepdad, and future father-in-law, saving the special moment of revealing her bridal look to Jake until the ceremony. Despite losing her father early in her life, Alyssa made sure his presence was felt throughout the day. She was walked down the aisle by her uncles and stepdad, a sight that left no eye dry in the room! A picture of her and her father on her bouquet served as a visible reminder of his presence. Their sunset romantic photoshoot was pure magic. Alyssa and Jake were in their own little bubble of newlywed bliss, and I was the lucky one who got to capture these precious moments. The reception was beautiful, with a packed dance floor from start to finish!

In essence, this was one of the most colorful, romantic, and fun weddings I've had the pleasure of photographing. It was lighthearted yet deeply emotional.
